Netanyahu Demands Full Hamas Disarmament Using Advanced Tech Before Gaza Exit

by admin477351

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has firmly rejected a proposal backed by the United States that suggests linking the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza to a broader peace agreement. Netanyahu insisted that Israeli forces would not leave the region until Hamas is fully disarmed. Israeli officials have expressed concerns that Hamas continues to recruit fighters, rebuild its military capabilities, and amass weapons. The Israeli government fears that a premature withdrawal could enable Hamas to reassert control over Gaza, thereby posing renewed security threats.

The US-brokered ceasefire proposal outlines several key conditions, including the disarmament of Hamas, the dismantling of its network of tunnels, and a phased withdrawal of Israeli troops. The framework also suggests the establishment of a Palestinian technocratic administration, the deployment of an international security force, and the reconstruction of Gaza. Despite these proposed measures, Israel remains adamant that disarmament must precede any military withdrawal to ensure lasting security.

In the meantime, the conflict in Gaza continues to claim lives. Recent Israeli airstrikes have resulted in the deaths of at least 17 people, including children. Tragedy struck again in Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood, where a major Israeli airstrike in November 2023 led to the recovery of more than 100 bodies by rescue teams. A mass funeral was held by Palestinians in the wake of this devastating event, and recovery efforts persist as many victims are believed to be still trapped under the debris.

The ongoing conflict was triggered by an attack from Hamas on October 7, 2023, which claimed the lives of approximately 1,200 people in southern Israel and resulted in the abduction of 251 hostages. This attack marked the beginning of the current war in Gaza, escalating tensions and prompting military responses. As the situation unfolds, the international community continues to watch closely, hoping for a resolution that addresses security concerns while paving the way for peace.
