The world’s most charmingly accented detective has a new case. The first look at Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is here, with a new teaser reintroducing Daniel Craig as the inimitable Benoit Blanc. The third film in Rian Johnson’s franchise promises another labyrinthine mystery for fans to unravel.
This installment plunges Blanc into his most perplexing investigation yet, which he labels “the impossible crime.” The central mystery concerns the murder of a Catholic priest, portrayed by Josh Brolin, who is shockingly killed in the middle of a church service. The teaser immediately establishes a mood of suspense and high drama.
The film features a signature all-star ensemble, with Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, and Cailee Spaeny joining the fray. Viewers will also notice a distinct new look for Blanc, who now has longer hair and a formal three-piece suit, signaling a fresh chapter for the character.
Following its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6th, Wake Up Dead Man is slated for a dual release. It will open in select theaters on November 26th and will be available for streaming globally on Netflix starting December 12th.
