HAKONE, JAPAN – Hotel Okura will open Okura Resort Hakone Gora in 2029, its first resort property in Japan. The project is being developed with Nishimatsu Construction under a partnership established in July 2025.
The resort will feature 58 rooms, each with a private outdoor hot spring fed by Owakudani thermal water. Designed by Gwenael Nicolas, the property follows a “Forest Hideaway” concept.
Guests will also have access to indoor hot springs, saunas, teppanyaki dining, and a bar lounge. Located in Hakone Gora, a destination attracting nearly 20 million visitors annually, the resort aims to elevate luxury hospitality in the region.
